Project Overview
National Finance Olympiad is a financial education platform that introduces students to money, finance, and practical decision-making through books, competitions, and digital learning experiences. As part of the design team, I worked across educational publishing, character systems, website design, and digital communication, helping maintain a consistent visual identity across the platform.

Designing for Young Learners
A recurring bear character was developed for the Grade 1–5 Personal Finance Handbook series to create a familiar learning companion. While the character evolved visually with each grade, it remained instantly recognisable, reinforcing continuity throughout the series.

The character was designed to feel familiar, friendly, and approachable to young learners. Drawing inspiration from the warmth and comfort associated with teddy bears and the expressive, memorable qualities of characters like Doraemon, the aim was to create a character that children could easily connect with. This sense of familiarity and personality helped make the learning experience feel more engaging, encouraging children to interact with and learn alongside the character.
